An Introduction
Life with Jesus is a resource our church developed to promote spiritual growth. What is spiritual growth? Jesus described it like this “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” Luke 6:40. Spiritual growth is simply becoming more like Jesus. It’s the primary goal of every Christian.
Life with Jesus is the phrase Faith Church coined to describe spiritual growth. Other phrases like, soul training, discipleship, apprenticeship with Jesus, spiritual formation, maturity, are talking about the same thing, the process of becoming more like Christ.
To make it easier to find what’s helpful we’ve organized Life with Jesus in three subject areas. Loving the God of Jesus through the practices of prayer, meditation, solitude, and study of the Word. Learning to be like Jesus through study of Jesus life and the way he lived his life and learning to do the same. Living with the Family of Jesus through following Jesus in and with the Christian Community, called the Church.
